And I'm serious..... Channel makers don't mean squat! Don't believe them. Don't matter if you stay between them, if there's not a channel there to flote your bote.......
Yea, so Pop and I dumped the boat in at the Suwannee marina again today and thought we'd run out and see if there were any more sand trout to fall to the Gulp! 's. Got out to the mouth of the river, running the channel makers just like we did last week................. boat bottoms out in about 10" of water........ but it'll keep on sliding for a bit depending on fast you are running to start with... :-) The good news is I was able to push us back out of the sand to water deep enough to run the trolling motor and from there back into what could be called a channel even though it was only 2.5' deep..........
We could see the line of channel makers that stretched on out into the gulf, most of them sticking up out of the oyster beds!
After that we decided to head back into the river and see what we could find. We trolled, anchored and cast Gulp's and fished with cut mullet. Did not get a friggin' bite, not a fish, skunked, smoked....... we could have seen a fish, but we would have had to have driven somewhere around 45 miles from the boat ramp the seafood section of Walmart!.
What we ain't though is skeered! We will be heading back out to the "hole" and to Barnett creek. We are armed with a new tide chart and it looks like the 7th, 8th, and 9th will have the high tides back where they should be for those areas......
It was still fun though. Enjoyed being on the water with Pop!

Mike,
Stacey and I thought you were probably lying about the sand trout (since you only had a picture of just one and of course the smallest one). She compared you with a used car salesmam but believe me i defended you to the end. ha ha ha
M & K,
Just wanted to say hello, loved the videos of Emma, they made me laugh. Hope to see you at Christmas time.
Love,
Kelly
Fishing with your son is fun even if you do get stuck on sandbars and don't catch fish. The tides around here in the winter get mighty low, you think someone has pulled the plug on the gulf of Mexico.
We will get 'em next week. Huh son?
Pop
That's when you switch over to pistol fishing.....Wish I could be there not catching em with ya'll..
love ya'll,
Kris, Glad to hear you had my back bro! Tell Stac I says kiss my ass... :-)
Next time we will take pics of all of them, assuming we can find enough water to get back out to the channel. Tides are supposed to be good Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
Ditto Pop....
Mikey, I would have tried pistol fishing yesterday, but I left it in the truck! Wish you were here too!
