We lit in Vegas a few minutes ago. The ride up here was a real knuckle whitener. There were some SERIOUS Santa Ana winds blowing crosswind for about 100 miles of the ride. It was tough keeping the rig in just one lane. I understand now why they are so dangerous with fires. Once we got over the mountains though it was a great ride over. Beautiful desert country here. Lots of Joshua trees. We saw some wild donkey's just outside of town.
The ride through Vegas was not too bad. There is some road construction that caused some traffic to thicken up, otherwise it would have been a peaceful ride across town. This place is REALLY spread out in it's valley. Stay tuned. We'll be here for the next four days or so...

I can imagine how scary that ride over must have been. Plan on a trip to Hoover Dam--it's impressive. I'm not afraid of heights and it sure made a believer outta me! And warn Forest that the scorpions are armed from the other end.

Don't think you will find much "slap yo mamma" kind of grub out there, but I may be wrong. Of the times we been there, we did'nt.

"Seven-come-eleven" is a craps term--7 or 11 rolled is a win-usually. If you put your $$ on the Pass Line you have to do it before the shooter rolls...if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 before any other number you win. After the shooter rolls and has established his "point" then you can bet on the Come line to bet that he'll roll a 7 or 11 before he makes his point. You crap out if 2, 3 or 12 is rolled. It gets a little complicated with all the other ways you can bet but that's my understanding of it.

Pop, it seems those winds have really kicked a couple fires just outside of LA into overdrive. I can understand now why things burn so bad out here. I'd prefer NOT to pull the porta crib through any more of that action!
I tried and tried to get a firm understanding of craps at the casinos here, and just never really got into it. Seems to me like there is absolutely no player advantage at all in it. Oh well, I'll stick to blackjack and poker. Shell and Emmy are doing good. Em's got some stomach issues that hopefully we'll take care of at the docs on Thursday. She getting HUGE. She's almost as tall as her one year old cousin. It's crazy.... I definately think she'll be 6' plus. We're still trying to plan a weekend to come down there, just trying to save up some money to do it.
