Hot and Stinky.....

Nope, I'm not talkin' about Matt!

Went on our first run through the park today. Spent a fair amount of time around Mammoth Hot Springs. Cool is happening out here from within our orb travellin' around the sun. Here's some of what we saw...

This shot is from a parking lot. The cone is a dormant geyser cone.

This is a close up.

Up close this looks like ice or snow. You can feel the heat in the area though. Awesome formations...

The pool from above...

Dunno what the hell it is, but it's cool!

It eats trees too.

This is on the way up into the park. Several of these views around here.

This is sheepeater cliff. It's basalt formation left by a volcane. The specks are idiot tourists that thought they should climb it.

Highly effective motocycle alarm. Their own sidecar!

There are quite a few folks trying to climb that cliff...dumbasses--it's a cliff!! But it must keep the rangers amused--scraping them off the rocks at the bottom.
And the odyssey continues...
