World Birding Center

So we are still in Mission and will probably be here a few more days. We've been having what we thought were some issues with our air conditioner. Turns out the AC is working fine, it's just too small for the unit. We paid for the larger upgraded unit but it did not get installed. We started the process of dealing with Bankston to get it corrected today. We'll see if we can get it done without suing the pants off of 'em.


We went over to Bentsen Rio Valley State Park today. It's right outside the entrance to our park. Apparently this area is considered a world birding center. Lots of folks come down here to look at da birds. We thought, when in Rome....... so we went.

We both got to see our first Road Runners. Actually a family of them. Two big 'uns and two lil'uns.....

This here's the lil uns....... cute lil buggers ain't they.. :-)

They got this right purty lil lake in the middle of to. Full of some honkin' big bass too. We could see some from the high bank and a couple ladies got back on the tram with two on a stringer. Might try some fishing on it before we check out.
