Ledbetter Point, Oysterville, and the Desperation!

Yesterday was a good day weather wise, after that rain that soaked me and Forrest on the beach walk! He loved it, I was not as amused. While watching the local weather station, they said the seas at the mouth of the Columbia River at Desperation Point would be 11' to 16'! The waves were probably 12' on the beach way down at Long Beach. You can hear them in the portacrib at night.

So we went north up to the point to Ledbetter State Park. Cool ride...

Started raining again once we got out to the point so we did not do the hike out to the point. Headed back and drove through the little village of Oysterville.

Found some cool stuff there too...

And a cool church....

From here we headed back down the coast to Point Desperation, the most dangerous body of water in the US. This is where the Columbia river dumps itself into the sea. There are two lighthouses here to warn ships.....

This is the North Head house......

And some views around it....

This is looking south down the coast..

And looking down the cliff....

That pretty well wraps up the day. Had a big time but it's time to move again....
