Pebble Beach, Carmel, and Big Sur all in one....

Yesterday we did the 17 mile drive at Pebble beach. For those that might not know, this is where the rich folks live. They do have a nice golf course there if you are into that sort of thing. Why are they rich...... well they get you to pay $9.25 just to ride through their neighborhood is one reason. The drive through the upper slope of Pebble beach isn't much to write home about. Once you get down to the coast though is another story. The coast there is beautiful, even if the riches do own it.

There's a section of beach there, probably about a 1/4 mile long where those of us lower life forms that drive through have begun "stacking rocks".....

The picture doesn't do it justice. It's really cool looking at it at beach level.

Just a bit further down were some cool rocks. The surf was really big in sets today and it was cool watching it break on the rocks.... I have a video but I can't post it cuz of this slow connection.

Oh wellHere's another view......

And this one...

After we finished up with the 17 mile drive, we jumped out in Carmel by the Sea or Carmel. Carmel's a cool little artsy fartsy town along the sea. Clint Eastwood used to be the mayor here. We did not see any bad guys on the street there.........

We did find some really cool houses though....
Check out that roof....

And....

And this one was awesome!....

Most of these are along Ocean ave along the coast. Little narrow streets winding along the coast.

How about this shot..... cool, eh?

After we wound through Carmel, we headed on down the PCH for a quick look at the northern end of Big Sur. We stopped and had lunch at a place called Rocky Point. Expensive and so so but the views were nice....

Some might disagree, but Big Sur ain't all that. I realize that we saw only a very small part of it, but we've much more interesting and beautiful up north. Oh well, we leave the area tomorrow for Pismo beach, then San Dimas...
