The Bay

Went back down to the wharf yesterday for a better look around. Drove through the Presidio and along the marina to get back towards the wharf. They were having themselves a big time kite festival...

See.... those are what is known as "big time kites"! I think Karen took this shot cuz it has a naked guy running down the sidewalk though... :-)

Once we made it down to the wharf and got into the parking garage without running over any of those loudmouthed french &*&^%$^()* we found a huge bakery....

Pauline has got herself on monster alligator in front of her and there were crabs and lobsters too.
Smelled good enough to slap ya mama!

So we wandered around the shops and stuff on the wharf and on Pier 39 and then decided to do a bay cruise on a boat filled with non english speaking peeps of all kinds. Most of them didn't stink though so it was all good....

Got a great video going under "the" bridge...

If you look hard you can just make out little bitty people. Those people think it's fun to walk across that bridge....... I don't think any of them spit on us, but with the wind and waves it's hard to tell...... :-)

Today it's off to Sonoma and Napa to taste all the free wine we can find... I hope I can find the Ripple vineyards. I'm gonna pick up a bottle or two for Pop and Jude......

Oh yeah, Matt, shoot me your snail mail address. Got some sand to send ya'll....

Hey Mike, it's Pam over here @ WLC. Just read ya'lls blog from the 22nd. I think SF has some magnificant history and the bridge is amazing! I was one of those "lil people" about 3 years ago, walked 1/2 way across just to do it :) Did you know that Marine (pronounced Ma-ren) County is across the bay and it is where alot of the older Hollywood stars, Sylvester Stalone, Gary Cooper, Seinfeld and others are living? My brother used to live in Marine County and he actually got to meet all 3 of the ones I listed visiting the beaches over there and also, he met Matthew McConaghy (sp) over on the side where the Military Fort is...I think that's pretty cool. I didn't meet anyone when I was there, didn't spend alot of time in that area.....Loved Pier 39! We visited a Blues Bar right there on the water..it was on the 3rd floor of an old warehouse...it was awesome! The sea lions were fantastic as well - I let Susie listen to them and she got a kick out of the noise - I think they are awesome just where they are.
Looks like ya'll are having a wonderful time out there on the road...it was neat to see you travel in a place where I got to go a few years ago - We've become avid readers of the Mike and Karen adventures - keep it going! We love ya'll!
