Avenue of the Giants

Took a ride down to the avenue of the giants today. Found some too....

And to add some scale to the redwood sorrel that stumped pop....

The trees are friggin huge as you would expect. But everything in the understory is massive too.

Here's a vid of some of the ride down the Avenue....

We only did a very short section of the 31 miles of the Avenue. I think we are going to come back down here and stay a couple days. We found an RV park that was only opened this year. Had one other rig in it today.

After we left the trees, we headed back up to Eureka to find some bait for lunch. Found a little shop that didn't suck. Wasn't the best one we've been in either though.

After we slurped down the bait we headed over to Samoa. Really....... Samoa..... It was just a short flight across the bay. Actually it's a small barrier island that protects Humbolt bay from the Pacific. There's good beach access out there and the surfers apparently like it.... or those could be seals......

We also ran across these guys........

Busy training schedule....... did not see any of their birds from Arcata Air Station though...

So Mike, have ya'll decided where you will winter or are you going to keep moving it around. The cold out there makes things shrivel you know, and at your age you don't need that, haha.
