Walking and stufff

Forrest the wonder dog attacking a beach monster!

Got up early this am and went over the beach. Forrest was diggin' it! He is back in his own little happy place on the beach!

Speaking of that, this is what a lot of the beach around here looks like.....

The sand is a more of a black sand, kinda like the upper east coast florida stuff but more coarse.

There are also lots of this around....

So Forrest and I were walking in the field next to the park and I noticed, once again, the number and size of slugs here in Washington state. Yep, I said slugs. They range from tiny to freakin' huge, and they are prolific. Colorful lil buggers too. Colors are from a very light tan to turkey turd tan and from maybe a 1/2 inch long to 6/7 inches long.

Also lots of the black tail deer here along the coast. A good sized herd that eats the field next to us everyday.

This is a view of one of the "floats" in the Westport Harbor. There are twenty some odd docks or what they call floats in the harbor.

And there are other beach monsters around too.... better watch out around here!

the drift wood and stones on the beach remind me of the beaches on the Homer spit in Alaska. They look the same. I collected and carried a bunch of those rocks with me for a long time. I think I still have them packed up in a box somewhere.

Boy it looks cold there. Brrrrr.

Bet them slugs would be tasty cooked in some garlic butter and eaten with a food French wine.. let me know after you try them.

Take care,

Pop

Once again, the video was great...good work, Karen! Where are the people? Guess that's not a beach for sunbathers...uh, guess you gotta have sun first--oh, and warmth.
Glad to see FTWD is back in his own perfect little beach world.
Don't eat the slugs, my little gypsies.

Pop,

Karen has picked her up a box of the rocks. Our new beach is rock less though.

Will let you know about the slugs. I'll try some tonite....

Jude, there are folks on the beachs but they are few and far between. We actually saw a couple kids swimming in it today. Water temps here are never over 50.....
