Tillamook

Yo' Wassup? Took a ride down to Tillamook yesterday. It's about 45 miles or so south of here. They have a "head" or a point and a bay. The head has a lighthouse and three arches rocks. What they are most noted for though is cheese. We did not do the tour of the cheese factory on this trip though. We will be staying in the area next week so we will do it then. There is a nice state park down there and a great scenic drive. Here's some of it....

This is three arches, although you can only see two of them in this pic. Can't get a good shot with all three holes in the shot.
The point where this was taken is a really good place to whale watch during their migrations, which is not now since we are here. :-)

This is Bar View Jetty just outside Tillamook.

A zoom of the southern jetty. Some serious breakers coming in...

Small bay just north of Tillamook Head.

Sound of Tillamook head at the base of the light house.
That point to the left is another 500' or so higher than you can see in the pic. The fog has it covered.

Once again, the pics here do not do justice to the Oregon coastline. Much of it still has old growth forest filled with huge Douglass Fir and Sitka spruce, some of which grows weird....

This area is just one more of those areas that ya'll must see, while it's still here.
