Guess what we did today?
Yep, Historic Wallace Idaho! It's the center of the universe....... Yes it is too!...... See....
The sign says so..... right chere........
It's also home to the Oasis Bordello Museum..... It was in business from 1895 to 1988....yes, that says 1988....... Miners need love too.......
Yeah, that's another thing Wallace is famous for. It's the silver capital of the world. Mining is a REALLY big deal here. Since 1884, this area has produced metals valued at $6,229,748,000. It seems Colonel Wallace screwed us outta our piece of that inheritance! Hope they buried him face down/ass up to the bears! He also claims to have caught 247 trout in one day on Placer creek.
We picked up a Wallace T shirt and........hell yeah... a bottle of Wallace wine. A fine reisling!
It is a pretty little town.
On the way back, while geocaching we ran across this little river......
The Mennonite church (Everyone Welcome) was right down the road......
And not to leave our Native Americans out, we are in Shoshone territory here. Didn't see any, so don't know if their sho shone or not...... Will let you know if we see any though.....
This area is pretty cool too. I'm glad we came through here. Tomorrow we are gonna run over to Spokane (spocan), and have some lunch and see what's up over there.
Oh yeah, to get to Wallace from here, you HAVE to go through Kellogg. Not a friggin' corn flake to be found either...........
Night ya'll......
