Sangre' De Cristo Mountains and Taos Valley

Today our geocaching took us a different direction and we found some more beautiful stuff. On the way to Taos Ski Valley we saw a sign that said Rio Grande Gorge bridge. Sounded interesting so off we went. Guess what we found?

The white speck is what's left of a jeep.

This is a shot of the river from the center span. The bridge moves a lot when cars travel across it. Pucker factor of 10+!

This'll make ya sa ahhhhh........

We were able to walk a good ways along the west rim. Most of the rock is volcanic. This gorge was carved after the volcano did it's thing apparently.

Cruisin' along the west rim....

Told ya. Beautiful!

After we left here, we went up in the mountains towards the Taos Valley Ski area. Passed through a cool little village called Arroyo Seca. Few cool shops and a couple resturants. Neat place.

Here's a shot of the Rio Hondo that runs down into the valley from the Sangre' De Cristo at Taos Valley.....

This shot is at about 9000'.

Tomorrow we pull the plug on New Mexico. We'll be saddlin' up in the morning and head up to Colorado Springs. See ya then.....

Hey, Mikey, I checked out your pics, pretty neat. Is that someone's leg all swollen? What got him/her? When you get pictures of Emma Grace be sure to holler.
