New Mexico

We've crossed over. Made it to New Mexico this morning. We are currently in Carlsbad at the Pecos River RV park. We were able, thanks to Lindsay, to get a site here for a couple nights. They are booked all next week. It looks like we'll be able to do Brantley Lake State Park though if we want to stay in the area. We are doing the Living Desert Zoo and Museum tomorrow. The caverns on Sunday. Not much more in the area so we may move on to Albuquerque on Monday.

Vastly different desert here than in Texas although it's part of the same desert. Starting to get into the mountains here.

This is a view coming back down into the valley from the Living Desert Zoo area.

This is a little minature owl common to the area. This little guy was in tree right in front of an RV at Brantley Lake State park. Lots of roadrunners out there too.

More tomorrow....

Cool looking bird. He doesn't seem in the least bit afraid.

I saw one of these guys down in Seminole Canyon, sitting in the road. It was late in the evening and I couldn't get a picture of it.
